Debut: Episode One: The Girl Who Overcame Time, and the Boy That Was Just Overcome

Kagome is a modern day girl who falls down a well at her families shrine. What she finds on the other side is remarkable: it seems she has gone back 500 years into the past! The first person she meets is a boy named InuYasha, whom mistakes her for his old love Kikyou. After he tries to kill her, and then gets a miko's necklace around his neck, Kagome tries to return to her own time.

Along the way, however, she gets kidnapped, and a crow demon flies of with the precious jewel she had in her protection, the Shikon No Tama, which can grant any wich and give any creature, human or demon, extra powers. Kagome uses the crow demons foot the shoot it with her arrow, but accidently shatters the jewel, sending it's hundreds of pieces all over Japan. Her quest now? Collect all the Shikon Jewel fragments to make the jewel whole again, while avoiding being kidnapped or killed!

Though Kagome spends most of her time in the Fudel Era, she does have a family back in present day Tokyo. Her mother, the name of whom, as of yet, unknown, is often seen at Kagome's house. She lowered her bike seat so Kagome could ride on it, that way Kagome wouldn't have to lug her other bike in and out of the feudal era. Kagome's mother is a kind, loving woman and is often presented as someone who can give good advice and help in many situations.

We do not know what happened to Kagome's father, unfortunatly.

Next we have her 'Ojii-san', or grandfather, who is also known as 'Gramps'. It is unknown if he is Kagome's mother's father, or Kagome's father's father. and her grandfather is the type of person who believes a lot in tradition and the 'old ways', which can sometimes seem crazy or wierd to the younger more modern Kagome. When he first saw InuYasha, he shouted 'demon' and threw a sutra at his head, which of course did not work. The elderly man is known for his useless magic.

Alongside these 'older' people, Kagome also has a younger brother named Souta, or Sota in the dubbed anime. He cannot travel into the Feudal Area like she can, but he is just as brave as his older sister. Souta likes soccer, and gives his sister notes from her classes when she's home so she won't fall behind. Souta also listens to his grandfather's stories, but doesn't believe that they are anything more then stories. The kid looks up to InuYasha like a brother, after reciving support and encouragement from the hanyou.
